چکیده

This paper presents a new methodology to retrieve slant-range velocity estimates of moving targets inducing Dopplershifts beyond the Nyquist limit determined by the pulse repetition frequency (PRF ). The proposed approach exploits the linear dependence (not subject to PRF limitations) of the Doppler-shift with respect to the slant-range velocity, at each wavelength. Basically, we propose an algorithm to compute the skew of the two-dimensional spectral signature of a moving target. Distinctive features of this algorithm are its ability to cope with strong range migration and its e ciency from the computational point of view. By combining the developed scheme to retrieve the slant-range velocity with a methodology proposed elsewhere to estimate the velocity vector magnitude, the full velocity vector is unambiguously retrieved without increasing the mission PRF . The e ectiveness of the method is illustrated with simulated and real data. As an example, slant-range velocities of moving objects with velocities between 6 and 12 times the Nyquist velocity are estimated with accuracy better than 3%.

Moving Target Detection and Trajectory Estimation Using SAR Data

Conventional Synthetic Aperture Radar processing leads to moving targets being imaged displaced from their real positions and blurred. This is mainly due to the used reference phase no longer being valid, including an additional Doppler-shift and a Doppler-spread. Since these effects are not considered in the focusing algorithm, the resulting SAR image shows the moving targets defocused and/or ...

Moving Target Motion Parameter Estimation in Two-Channel SAR-GMTI

Part 1: Two-channel SAR-GMTI systems are suboptimal for moving target motion parameter estimation. Indeed, the ATI phase estimate of a moving target across-track velocity component is biased to lower values depending on the target signal to clutter ratio and the target across-track velocity. Additional antenna diversity can introduce additional degrees of freedom th...

Estimation of Ocean Current Velocity near Incheon using Radarsat-1 SAR and HF-radar Data

This paper presents the results of the ocean surface current velocity estimation using 6 Radarsat-1 SAR images acquired in west coastal area near Incheon. We extracted the surface velocity from SAR images based on the Doppler shift approach in which the azimuth frequency shift is related to the motion of surface target in the radar direction. The Doppler shift was measured by the difference bet...

A new MTI-SAR approach using the reflectivity displacement method

A new method for moving target detection, localization, and velocity estimation using SAR raw data is presented which allows the determination of the target’s complete velocity vector. The method is applicable if the target has either a tangential velocity ( I l l # 0) or a radial acceleration ( ~ I R # 0), or both. It is based on the analysis of the Doppler rate map which is obtained from the ...
